August 2002:
a) New MBO folder is here! b) Know your spot gluing options
NEW MBO FOLDER offers MORE production MUSCLE
At E&M Bindery, we’re constantly looking for ways to provide our customers with more muscle – and more options – for their money. Our newly-installed 32” MBO folder is the latest example, and customers are already starting to take advantage of the flexibility it offers. Here’s an example:
A customer came to us recently looking for an economical solution to a very complex project. Three 12-page, 3” x 5” final-size books were to be bound together to form a single book, yet remain detachable so end users could remove each of the three books. The production flexibility of the new folder allowed us to perf and fold each book, and then paste-bind them together - all in-line!
No matter how simple or complex your project, E&M Bindery has a folding solution that can handle it. Let us help you plan your next job to take advantage of these time- and money-saving capabilities.
KNOW YOUR SPOT GLUING OPTIONS
Glue can be placed anywhere and everywhere on a printed sheet, and there’s a wide variety of spot glues available to accomplish that. Before you print your next project, let E&M help you select the proper spot glue and incorporate its placement into your design.
Remoist glue – As the name suggests, remoist glue is activated by the end user to seal envelopes and other mailpieces.
Permanent glue – Permanent glues can be used as a side-seam glue on mail-order envelopes, or to paste-bind thinner books.
Fugitive glue – Also known as removable glue, fugitive glue is perfect for direct mail applications. It can be applied using either a hot melt or cold process, and is easily rubbed away by the end user. Cold fugitive glues have a key benefit: they won’t activate in a laser printer during personalization. At E&M Bindery, we have cold fugitive gluing capabilities that can be performed inline on any of our folders for fast, accurate application.
