PAGE PULL STRENGTH 101
Adhesive-bound books are only as good as the strength of their bind. The last thing you want is a book falling apart shortly after it’s produced. When it comes to adhesive binding, not all binds are created equal. That’s why it’s important to match the binding needs of your books with the appropriate binding style.
For most applications, page pull strength of 3.5 lbs. per linear inch is more than enough to keep your books together for years. For extreme-abuse applications, PUR binding – available on our new Muller Martini 12,000 books per hour perfect binder – may be the best solution. Regardless of the binding method you choose, E&M Bindery will be happy to conduct page pull strength tests to ensure your book will be around as long as you want.
