IRON CROSS FOLDS!
Iron cross folds build intrigue as messages are revealed panel by panel. At E & M Bindery, we can automatically produce many styles of iron cross folds for you. However, keep these important panel sizing requirements in mind during the production planning process:

- Some panels need to be slightly undersized in order to be manufactured right and function properly.
- The last folded panel (fold 4 in diagram) should be sized like the center panel.
- The next to last panel (fold 3) needs an extra 3/32” clearance on the side next to the last panel.
- The next one (fold 2) should be undersized at the face as well.
- The first folded panel (fold 1) should be undersized in three dimensions.
ALLOW TIME TO TEST GLUE
There are a lot of factors to get right whenever adhesives are used in the bindery. Paper, paper coatings, inks, glues and atmospheric conditions all play important roles in determining adhesion strength. Allow enough time to test your glue before production begins. If other glues fail, super-strong PUR glue (the Krazy GlueJ of perfect binding) is available at E & M Bindery!
SMALL FORMAT SADDLE STITCHED PRODUCTS
At E & M, we saddle stitch one-up products as small as 4-1/2”x 4-1/2”. If your layout is multiple-up, we can automatically produce small format products down to 4-1/2” x 3-1/2”.
WIRE-O CALENDAR HANGERS
Calendar hangers make great looking Wire-O bound calendars look even more elegant. Calendar hangars are available in lengths from 4” to 12” (in 2” increments). The right size for your project depends on the width and weight of your product. Save time and money on your calendar projects by making sure your bindery has automatic calendar insertion equipment. Hand insertion is inefficient for all but the smallest quantities.
